Different Flower Arrangement Designs

Flowers bring beauty, grace, life, color, and Earth to any wedding. Thinking of which flowers would look nice can seem confusing and overwhelming on top of all other planning. However, you can work with your wedding coordinator and come up with creative and well suited ideas for your flower arrangements by bringing together key elements. These unmistakable decorations are easily thought of last and can be rushed. Taking the extra time to consider unique options may bring about surprise and a feeling of comfort for you and your guests.

Most couples know right away the location they wish to have their wedding. It's often a place they find togetherness, peace, and happiness. The theme is paired with the venue for a full circle combination. So, it makes sense to have the flowers match everything as well. It's not just the flowers which are a part of the design, but the holder, the space around it, and the mood it brings about.

Japanese flower arranging is most often called Ikebana, meaning "living flowers", but is also called kadō, meaning the "way of the flower". It is a minimalistic disciplined art form. The concept is to create simplicity with an emphasis on shape, lines and forms using mostly stems and leaves instead of numerous flowers. Its expression subtly exudes emotion like no other and can be a perfect addition to any modern style wedding.

If you’re by a body of water, there are several ways to add interest and make excellent arrangements. Here are a few examples:

Waterfall Style: If your ceremony is near a mountain stream or waterfall, using moss in wide ascending pots creating steps, with cool tone colored flowers will bring nature to the event without having to be right next to it. Waterfalls and streams can be a bit too adventurous for some, so using the decorations is a good way to bring that setting to you. Not to mention moss is very soft, fun to feel, and its color will match any other plant.

Ocean Style: Vast, big and blue the ocean draws millions around the world. Putting shells in the bottom of glass vases is a classy and bright idea. Also on the tables you could place small green glass bottles with light toned colored flowers leaving the cork by its sides. The ocean also offers other treasures undiscovered by many. Drift wood can add some amazing texture, lines, and interest to any display. Sand may be too messy for some, so if you don't like that idea, using tall sea side grass can add greenery and perspective to any event.

Lake Style: Lakes are already surrounded by foliage and tree lines, so using small table top decorations in unique vases are a good idea. Mini canoes in holders, to keep them upright, will not only match your even, but intrigue your guests.

Not everyone lives near a body of water, so if your event is inland there are some unique ideas which you can incorporate. Using terra cotta or unglazed clay pots are earthy and soft looking. If you’re using glass, you can put smooth round rocks in the base for added texture and shape.

Having a vision is a great start for you and your wedding planner to get the wheels turning. However, new and unique ideas can make your day even better than you originally expected it to be. Think outside the box, have fun with it, and get creative!
